I remember when I first heard of Prettifun, he was a producer for the song "Pizza Time" by Che, which I consider to be my favorite song of 2024. I hadn't even realized that he was a rapper himself until a few weeks after. Intrigued, I gave his freshman, self-titled album Pretti a listen while walking to Chemistry class, and I was so invested that I ended up continuing to listen throughout the class. Every song came through with a unique blend of raw, rage-filled energy, paired with an upbeat and almost childlike enthusiasm, creating an unforgettable listening experience. Standout tracks include the likes of "Ice Cream", "Sparky", "Touch the Sun", and many more.
Prettifun then followed this album up with FunHouse, which he described as a "deluxe" of his first album even though what it had to offer was so much more than a deluxe, offering us 18 new songs. While I greatly enjoyed FunHouse, it felt slightly less diverse compared to the fresh dynamics of his debut. Even so, standout tracks such as "Feel Like Uzi," "Rolled1," and "I Don’t Sleep" demonstrated his continued growth as an artist.
With his ability to consistently deliver compelling music and explore new creative directions, Prettifun is shaping up to be an artist destined for great things in the years to come.
